Info:
- CSK had been quietly going about their business in this year’s IPL before Ravindra Jadeja took Harshal Patel’s final over for 37 runs in the top of the table clash against RCB. His 62 runs coming from only 28 balls to ruin Patel’s figures and announce that Jadeja and CSK mean business. In spite of his fireworks, Faf du Plessis (214), Moeen Ali (133), Ruturaj Gaikwad (117) and Suresh Raina (104) have all made more runs for CSK so far.
- Sunrisers have struggled in the early games of the 2021 IPL but you wonder how bad a situation they would be in if it wasn’t for Jonny Bairstow. He has made 211 runs at an average of 52.75 which made his absence from opening in the Super Over against Delhi Capitals all the more baffling. With the ball, Rashid Khan was entrusted in the Super Over, he continues to set the standard across their bowling attack.
- With the teams playing in Delhi for the first time, it will be interesting to see if CSK call upon the services of Mitchell Santner or Jason Behrendorff, both are yet to make an appearance. For Sunrisers, they may feel that after winning only one game from five, that it is time to rejig their team and find a way to include Jason Roy.

CSK Key Players:
Faf du Plessis: Only Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul have scored more runs than du Plessis in the tournament so far. After a duck in his first game against Delhi Capitals he has hit 214 across his next four innings.
Ravindra Jadeja:
The Indian star always has a match-winning performance not too far away. He was unplayable against RCB hitting 62 from 28 and taking 3-13 from his four overs.
Sam Curran:
Due to team-mates’ performances, the young England all-rounder has gone under the radar somewhat in this year’s IPL. However, he still has a strike rate of 208 with the bat and 5 wickets including the crucial scalp of Virat Kohli in the last game.
The Indian star always has a match-winning performance not too far away. He was unplayable against RCB hitting 62 from 28 and taking 3-13 from his four overs.
SRH Key Players:
Jonny Bairstow: The English wicket-keeper batsman brought up 1000 IPL runs in his last knock not even half-way through his third campaign. Sunrisers need him to take advantage of his hot streak and post a really big score in this game.
Kane Williamson:
We have only seen the New Zealand captain in two games so far but they have coincided with a win and a Super Over defeat for Sunrisers. Yet to be dismissed, Williamson bats in a more reserved fashion than Bairstow and Warner at the top of the order.
Rashid Khan:
Like Bairstow, you wonder what Sunrisers’ performances would have looked like without the Afghan spinner. Trusted by Warner and feared by all opposing batsmen, he is the key to keeping Sunrisers in games with the ball.
